Product Description
Competition swimmers' nose clip from Speedo.

Product Description
Speedo's competiton-style nose clip is used by most synchronized swimmers. It is constructed of a rubber-coated stainless steel and has a low-profile fit for added comfort.

About Speedo
In 1914, Speedo was founded in Australia by Alexander MacRae, a 22-year-old Scottish immigrant who arrived in the country in 1910. The company began when MacRae Hosiery manufacturers, established by Alexander in 1914, extended the manufacture of underwear to swimwear and became MacRae Knitting Mills. A naming competition was held by the staff in 1928 and won by a Captain Parsonson, who coined the slogan, "Speed on in your Speedos." In 1929, the first swimsuits were in production and it didn't take long for Speedo to successfully establish itself. World War II caused the brand turn over 90% of it's manufacturing to war production, providing the armed services with vital equipment such as mosquito nets. After the war, Speedo opened a new factory and was able to re-establish itself, due to increased demand for swimsuits. In 1951, Speedo Knitting Mills (Holdings) Ltd, was incorporated and became a publicly traded company on the Sydney Stock exchange.

Speedo hit the international stage in earnest, at the 1956 Melbourne Olympic Games, and a few years later the brand grew on a more global scale. Export sales to the USA began and an international division was set up to monitor trade in New Zealand, Japan and South Africa. The expansion of the brand continued, and in 1976, Speedo was appointed as the official swimwear for the 1976 Montreal Olympics, where 52 out of 54 countries wore their swimsuits.

Speedo continues to make its mark in the pool and on the beach today. Many world class athletes who wear Speedo include U.S. phenomenon Michael Phelps, legendary Australian swimmer Grant Hackett, world record holder Kosuke Kitajima from Japan, and Holland's Inge de Bruijn.

5 out of 5 stars Quality clip   August 19, 2010

When I first received this clip I was very excited. However I soon realized that I had no idea how to wear it. (I'm quite new to swimming) And the instructions were pathetic, the picture on how to adjust the clip was not helpful. So I simply typed in "Speedo Nose Clip" on google and clicked images, I found several pictures of swimmers wearing the exact clip and that's when I figured it out. Once I discovered the correct position I was impressed! Very Nice.

These are the best nose clips you can get for swimming or diving. Made by Speedo.

2 out of 5 stars Slips off, Not cute   July 20, 2010
M. J. Priester (Alexandria, VA United States)
In addition to being a hideous color, these squeezed my already small nose to resemble Michael Jackson's non-existant nose. I was self concious to wear them and my boyfriend refused to look at me with them on. These helped a bit at first but kept slipping off eventually. I don't know where they are now. Probably at the bottom of a pool somewhere. :(

5 out of 5 stars Great for its purpose   June 18, 2010

I bought two pair of these for me and my wife about four years ago.

They are still in great condition. As opposed to cheap plastic clips you'll get in the sporting goods section of most department stores, these clips are quite comfortable to wear, and keep water out of your nose. I got them because we were both having problems with pollen that was floating on the water sending our sinuses into volcanic overload. With these clips on, that stopped immediately.

A+ product.

3 out of 5 stars Didn't work very well for me as another one did   May 15, 2010

This is one of the 5 different nose clips I purchased in an attempt to locate one that fits. 1 out of the 5 work very well and another one works but has to be readjusted after a couple of laps. I think nose clips would fit everyone differently specially based on sex and race. I'm a female Caucasian with a small to average size nose. Also I read these reviews when I purchase something so I try to leave feedback when I can. This is only my opinion of the nose clips I tried. You might hate the ones I like and visa versa.

I purchased
1. Speedo Silicone Nose Clip
2. * Speedo Competition Nose Clip *
3. Tyr Soft Pad Swim Clip
4. TYR Ergo Swim Clip
5. Water Gear Synchro Nose Clip

1. Speedo Silicone Nose Clip
This one was the winner! I really like it. This was by far the best clip out of the 5 I tried. It stayed on my nose and kept it closed no matter how many laps I did. It was comfortable to the point that I didn't even notice it while swimming. No need to adjust it because it stayed in place. I see Amazon only sells it in packages of 10. I purchased it from [...]. Comes with a nice case.

2. * Speedo Competition Nose Clip *
This one sort of worked but not well enough that I didn't want to try others. It was probably the second best one but still I had to adjust it after a lap. I think if you had a larger nose it would work. You can adjust it a little but it really has to do with the rubber not really holding in place on the nose so adjusting it didn't help much. Since it didn't fit it wasn't very comfortable and very noticeable. I keep this in my bag just in case something happens to the Speedo Silicone Nose Clip.

3. Tyr Soft Pad Swim Clip
This one didn't work because it didn't clip tight enough for my nose and there was no way to adjust the fit. I think it would work very well if you have a larger nose because the rubber material grips the nose well. It grips much better than the rubber on the Speedo Competition nose clip. It was the only clip out of the group that floated. It comes with a case. Tyr Soft Pad Swim Clip

4. TYR Ergo Swim Clip
I really like this one when I first tried it but when I tried it at the pool as soon as it got wet the rubber wouldn't hold. It slipped completely off my nose as soon as I started to swim. If you're looking for a nose clip that you don't need to get wet this one held my nose close, stays on the nose, and is comfortable as long as I didn't get it wet. It comes with a nice case. There's no way to adjust the clip but its set tight so there's no need for me to adjust it. TYR Ergo Swim Clip

5. Water Gear Synchro Nose Clip
This one was the cheapest but it was also far inferior in terms of the quality of the materials used. The wire is thinner than the wire used by Speedo and doesn't hold its shape. I don't think this would work for anyone. Also didn't come with a case.Water Gear Synchro Nose Clip
